"Resolution Not Supported" crash on boot

ATTENTION ALL USERS: RESOLUTION NOT SUPPORTED CRASH ON BOOT ISSUE:

With the "Alpha" status of Starstrike in mind, there is as yet no frontend interface (main menu) for the game, and the engine will load directly into a playable test map for gameplay testing. The game runs by default at widescreen (16:10 aspect) 1680x1050 resolution at 16bit depth, the specs of the internal development test machine. Given that most systems do not run at these specifications, most testers will need to change this in order to play the game.

In the absence of a menu from which to select video options, these settings must be specified on the command line.

The following parameters can be entered on the command line of your shortcut to set a resolution:

-600x480
-800x600
-1024x768
-1280x960
-1600x900
-1680x1050
-32b

Remember to include the switch (minus) symbol as a prefix to the resolution you are specifying. This is a fixed list of resolutions supported; don't try to invent your own command line switches to run in an unsupported resolution. The last switch, -32b, is used for systems that cannot switch away from 32-bit color depth in their resolution settings (some XP variants prevent this). Specifying this switch will allow the game to run in native 32bit depth. This is a compatibility option only and will have no effect on in-game visuals, so unless you're having trouble booting the engine don't use this switch expecting better graphical quality - it'll probably hurt your FPS anyway.

The switches are stackable, so if you need to set a resolution and 32bit depth, just put a space between parameters.

If you have any further problems, make a post in the Technical category.
